How effective I thought this was:
What I did:
After observing Primary schools within the cluster, I have used different techniques that I have observed with year 8. These techniques have included pinki/blue marking, where i have given immediate feedback with pink meaning think and blue meaning fab! This ensures that the pupils cannot move on in tasks unitl they ahave mastered their what they are doing. I have also completed 5 question quiz at the start of every lesson, ensuring repitition and a spiral curriculum, which in itself enhances mastery I have seen a great change in the year 8 class, inlcuding one pupil who has gone from getting constant 0’s and having no motivation in class, to even getting 5 out 5 and putting his hand up more within class.
What you should consider if you want to do this:
The type of class you choose to do it with – they need to be able to cope with repetition.
The 5 questions – you need to ensure that most can achieve at least one to keep then motivated and they type of reward you give them
